Μso far, all we have seen is the video leaked by the company president, Lin Bin , or at least until recently, because thanks to LetsGoDigital, it was possible to download a series 3D illustrations showing this mobile phone and its folding capability.
Initially, there were many rumors about this folding screen technology, and if the Xiaomi was willing to prepare a device with this peculiar technology.
About two weeks ago, those doubts were dispelled because the Chinese manufacturer stated that it was working on a device with a folding screen.
Specifically, the president of the company, Lin Bin , presented a video in which we could see a prototype of this device, and how it works.
At the same time, in this video its president Xiaomi talked about some problems that had to be overcome first, in order to reach the stage of development, in which they are today, presenting at the same time the folding mechanism, and its specially designed operating system MIUI, which will support this device .
During the video, its president Xiaomi explains that this is a rather complex process, because the structure of the device must combine the experience of using a Tablet with that of a smartphone. According to the latest information provided to us by the CEO of the company, Lei Jun , there are two possible names for this device: Xiaomi Dual Flex and Xiaomi MIX Flex However, it has not yet been decided which of the two names will be the final one.
We are now able to see some 3D illustrations of the device, in which its design and special folding ability can be assessed with great clarity. This device can be opened to fit the size of a Tablet and at the same time you can close both sides of the screen, covering it completely.
In terms of design, it has the power button on the top of the device, and at the bottom, it has one USB Type-C connector .
It is known that in order to adapt to this new system, the Xiaomi will need to modify the user interface (MIUI), and this can be seen in the photos below, because the icons are spaced apart. Another thing we saw in the video was the rotation of the screen, so that it adapts to each of the positions in which this device can be placed, either type Tablet either type Smartphone .
