ΜJust six months after the announcement of the Xperia XZ2, Sony announced the new Xperia XZ3, with the new model being the first to incorporate Sony's OLED panel. Until now, all OLED panels used in smartphones came from either Samsung or LG, as they were the only companies that could produce OLED panels in significant quantities. With the announcement of the XZ3 we now have Sony entering this market.
The Xperia XZ3 does not differ much in its technical characteristics, compared to the Xperia XZ2, as shown in the table below, with the main difference being in the panel technology. As mentioned earlier, the screen is now OLED, while in addition it is slightly larger and higher resolution, but maintaining the same proportions. The screen is curved on both sides, with Sony having added edge-swipe function, as found in Samsung products.
