The two new smartphones have now become official Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL from Google, about which we have known everything for several days, and the only difference between them is in the size of the screen and the capacity of the battery.
Το Pixel 4 has a 5.7 ”OLED FHD + screen, while the Pixel 4 XL rises to inches and resolution (6.3 ”QHD +). Both offer a 19: 9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate for a smoother viewing experience seen on OnePlus smartphones.
As you can see, Google has not inserted a notch or hole, but again preferred the outdated large bezel with good reason. Note that they support HDR content, Always On mode and the new Ambient EQ that optimizes colors according to ambient lighting.
Google has decided to install an earlier version of the processor (Snapdragon 855 instead of 855+), while offering both models in two versions 6GB RAM + 64GB storage or 6GB + 128GB. There is no microSD and the nanoSIM + eSIM combination is supported.
In terms of the camera, at the back we have a 12MP sensor with Dual Pixel AutoFocus, electronic and optical image stabilization system, pixel size 1.4μm and aperture f / 1.7. What dramatically improves the downloads are the new algorithms of Google and Pixel Neural Core, so we are talking clearly about improvements made in the software and not in the hardware (eg sensor, lens).
For the sake of the new Neural Core Pixel, the camera application can analyze HDR + content in real time, so you can adjust the exposure accordingly. The Dual Exposure function allows you to manually control the level of shadows and brightly lit spots, while in very low light conditions the renewed Nightsight is activated to take up to 15 images in 16s time for anyone who is crazy about astrophotography!
The second sensor on the back is 16MP with a pixel size of 1.0μm, electronic and optical image stabilization system, while thanks to the software Super Resolution Zoom offers the possibility of more than 2x optical zoom. Video capture is in resolution up to 4K at 30fp and there is a slow-motion mode at 120fps in 1080p resolution.
On the front we find an 8MP sensor for selfies, but what makes the difference is the new 3D depth sensor used for 3D Unlock function and portraits. Note that there is no fingerprint sensor!
Also important is the addition of the Soli radar to detect user gestures with tremendous accuracy and support for many functions (eg changing songs, checking alerts), but it will not be active in all countries. Finally, there is the Active Edge again for performing actions by applying pressure to the side.
On the part of the battery, the Pixel 4 comes with a capacity of 2800mAh and the Pixel 4 XL with 3700mAh. 18W charging is supported, as well as wireless charging.
In closing, mention that they have an aluminum border with a matte finish, glass coating Gorilla Glass 6 front and rear and construction certified in the protocol IP68 for protection against water and dust. It also has stereo speakers.
The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will be released on October 22 in the US and Taiwan and on October 28 in Europe, in Just Black, Clearly White and Oh So Orange colors (limited number) with prices set at $799 (64GB) and $ 899 (128GB) for the Pixel 4, and $ 899 (64GB) and $ 999 (128GB) for the Pixel 4 XL.
