Ο Chrome 71, which has been available for a few days now, will automatically remove all web page ads that do not comply with Google regulations such as pop-ups, various hidden side links, fishings, and automatic web redirects.
More specifically, in recent months Google has been working to prevent redirects to certain websites and the appearance of unwanted ads and fake pop-up messages aimed at reducing the user experience. The company finally made it with Chrome 71 and so will give web site owners a 30 day period to remove all of the above.
However, if they do not comply with this warning, Chrome will automatically block all ads running on the site and owners will be forced to lose all their advertising revenue. This move, according to Google, will affect a small number of websites that continue and persistently display various unwanted ads on an almost daily basis.
At the same time, Chrome 71 will do even more control and block extensions that have not been licensed by the Chrome Web Store to protect user data as much as possible and make browsing the web more secure.
Chrome 71 is already available for Windows, Mac and Linux, and will soon be available for Android and Chrome OS.
