Three of Xiaomi's most popular devices launched 2 years ago will not be getting an update on MIUI 14

The Redmi Note 9 is one of Xiaomi's best-selling devices, and you'll definitely find a lot of people out there using this smartphone.

This model sold at a low price, has 6,53 inch screen, it comes with a quad camera setup on the back, with the main sensor being on the 48MP and is equipped with the Mediatek Helio G85 SoC.

The Redmi Note 9 it has not yet received MIUI 13 Global version update, and the first update to MIUI 13 that was released a few days ago, was immediately pulled due to some serious issues it presented. Xiaomi is now preparing a new MIUI 13 update for this device, but unfortunately today's news is not pleasant for all owners of the device.

Internal Beta ROMs on MIUI for Redmi Note 9 have stopped!

A few days ago, the internal tests (Beta Pilot ROMs) in MIUI for the Redmi Note 9 have been suspended indefinitely – that is, permanently, and unfortunately from the looks of it, this smartphone will not receive an update in the next MIUI 14.

The Redmi Note 9 introduced in 2020 and released with the MIUI 11 based on Android 10. The device has since received total 2 updates on Android and 3 in MIUI, with the latest update version being the V13.0.1.0.SJOCNXM (for China) and the V13.0.1.0.SJOMIXM (Global version which has been withdrawn).

All devices in the series are expected RedMi Note 9 and RedMi 9 to receive the update MIUI 13 in all regions (countries). However the series devices Redmi Note 9 they will not receive the update later on MIUI 14 (when available).

From the September 16, 2022, the last internal Pilot version of MIUI for Redmi Note 9 (Redmi 10X 4G) is the V22.9.16 and now all internal testing in MIUI for this device has been suspended.

Xiaomi continues to secretly develop MIUI 14 and test it on its new flagship devices. The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro (to be released later) have already received the first ROMs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The fact that the Redmi Note 9 will not upgrade to MIUI 14, this means that other similar smartphones from the company like the Redmi 9 and the POCO M2.

That is, the three most popular Xiaomi devices released 2 years ago (Redmi Note 9, RedMi 9 and the POCO M2) will not receive an update on MIUI 14. These devices broke sales records in many countries (mainly in India) and are still being sold 2 years later.

But don't worry, most of these devices will continue to receive updates to the stable version of MIUI only for a certain period of time, later, the support for the updates will end and they will be added to the Xiaomi EOS list.

A year and a half ago I got the Mi10T 450 euros. Unacceptable not to get an upgrade. Never again.
