Η Xiaomi announced today that it has sold 10 million Redmi 5A smartphones in India in the 9 months since the device was released. The device debuted in November last year and went on sale in December. In March of this year, it reached 5 million devices.
The company said that this is the fastest selling smartphone in India, in order to be able to sell the incredible number of 10 million devices in a short time since its introduction. The RedMi 5A is the only smartphone in India that has managed to maintain the number one position in terms of sales, for nine consecutive months until today.
Commenting on this new record, Raghu Reddy, head of e-sales said:
"This remarkable record is the result of the immense love and admiration of millions of Mi Fans and our customers. The Redmi 5A is one of the smartphone products, which due to the amazing features it offers, and in combination with the excellent quality and the honest pricing, makes it the first choice in its category. And with the recently released RedMi 6A, we will have even bigger records. Xiaomi as a brand will continue to bring innovative high quality products with the best specifications, and at a low price, in order to ensure that its devices will be accessible to all consumers across India."
