Today this LetsGoDigital has unveiled a patent filed by Xiaomi, and it is a Smartphone with moving camera sensors.
Νearlier this month, Xiaomi celebrated its 10th anniversary with the launch of four new products, including My 10 Ultra . This smartphone became the new benchmark in DxOMark, taking first place and dropping it HUAWEI P40 Pro in second place in the camera rankings.
Now, it LetsGoDigital has unveiled a new patent filed by Xiaomi, which is a Smartphone with moving camera sensors.
This patent entitled "Camera module and terminal ” filed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software at the USPTO (Patent and Trademark Office) in October 2019. Approved and published in the WIPO database (World Intellectual Property Office) on 30 July 2020.
At the same time, Xiaomi filed a second application for a patent called " Camera Assembly and terminal , Which describes in detail the application of the aforementioned patent to a smartphone.
According to this patent, the device has two camera sensors with a small viewing angle. The two sensors can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, and can be rotated (tilted) in sync with each other to extend the viewing angle.
The photos that will be taken by this peculiar camera system, should have better quality and without distortion compared to the photos from a normal wide-angle lens, at least in theoretical level.
For those who do not know it, the Samsung also secured a similar solution in December 2019, two months after Xioami, and received its approval in June 2020. But its “patent” Samsung is very different from Xiaomi's approach, as it requires a set of five or six cameras, including a telephoto lens.
Of course, as always in these cases, there is no guarantee that this device will be commercially available at some point in the market.
