Xiaomi – Mijia Smart Glasses : They will be able to recognize plants and animals (New OTA Update)

Today, on Xiaomi's official account at Weibo, the company announced that the smart glasses by Mijia they will receive the first OTA software update, bringing a new ability to identify animals and plants


The  Mijia Smart Glasses will be able to intelligently recognize the names of animals and plants and display the option "The little encyclopedia in front of you” to give you more encyclopedic information about that animal or plant you're seeing.

The Mijia Smart Glasses they will finally be released in China on 10 Σεπτεμβρίου, while the pre-sale will start on September 1 at the special price of 2599 yuan, that is about 380 euros.

It should be noted that the new product was funded through the crowdfunding platform at the official Xiaomi store in China (Yupin), and the final amount raised was in 10,39 million yuan (approximately 1,4 million euros), taking first place in terms of funds raised in 2022. According to official figures, since the day the device entered crowdfunding on August 3, a total of 69.000 people have participated in just 14 days.

In addition to the function of photography and video, thanks to its integrated platform Snapdragon 8 core feature, the glasses also support AR (Augmented Reality, or otherwise augmented reality).

As for the display they have, they use a combination display Micro-OLED along with an optical prism that has light efficiency ratio at 60%, and has received certification from the German Rhineland for emitting low-level blue light to avoid eye strain, and the display is visible even under bright sunlight.

Mijia's new glasses can translate from Chinese to English in real time and they can use the camera for various AR effect. Mijia promises that additional features and new functions will be added through OTA updates.


To ensure privacy, the front of the glasses is equipped with a LED, which lights up when taking photos or recording videos, while the total weight of the glasses is at 100 gr of.
