Όas expected, Xiaomi proceeded a few minutes ago to the official presentation of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 and confirmed everything we knew about the very impressive all-screen smartphone from the leaks (official and unofficial) of the previous days.
Starting with the basics, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 comes with an all-screen display of 6.39 ”OLED FHD + (2340 x 1080, 19.5: 9) which occupies 93.4% of the front, with the only really obvious margin at the bottom. The company succeeded by following the example of Oppo with the installation of a sliding camera module for the dual (24MP + 2MP) front camera.
The mechanism of the sliding camera module moves the entire front panel and allows the execution of various actions, such as answering incoming calls, activating the front camera for taking selfies, but also accessing the application shortcuts selected by the user. Xiaomi guarantees at least 300.000 trips, but we will see in practice…
On the back we also find a dual camera 12MP f / 1.8 + 12MP f / 2.4 and according to the company, DxOMark has rated it with a total of 103 points (108 for taking photos and 93 for taking videos).
Elsewhere we find a 64bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB or 8GB or 10GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage and a 4000mAh battery, while the operating system remains MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Prices and Availability
Price starts at 3299 yuan (approximately € 415) for the 6GB + 128GB version, 3599 yuan (approximately € 455) for the 8GB + 128GB version, 3999 yuan (approximately € 505) for the 8GB + 256GB and 4999 yuan versions (approximately € 630) for the special version 10GB + 256GB with a gold-plated symbol of a deity on the back. They will be released in China on November 1 and we expect to see the prices offered by the various Chinese stores that ship to Europe.
Note that the version with 5G connectivity and 10GB RAM will be released in 2019.
