Έwe have heard several times in the past about Smartphone batteries that suddenly explode and catch fire (you will remember the fiasco with its batteries Galaxy Note 7 of Samsung), but this is the first time we see something like this happen in a SmartBand that has a tiny battery compared to Smartphones.
This incident happened to one of its owners Mi Smart Band 5 of Xiaomi from Italy (him Michele Costa), which according to Reddit, the device caught fire 5-10 minutes from the moment he put it to charge in a genuine simple charger (not fast charger) of Xiaomi.
According to the owner of the device, he had not previously caused any damage to the device and was in excellent condition. The device was purchased from Amazon and shipped back requesting a Refund.
So far this is the first case we hear of battery ignition in devices of this kind, and it may be an isolated incident, but it is worth investigating by the company so that we do not have recurrences.
