Android 11: Xiaomi confirms the update to Android 11 for selected devices in 2019

In today's announcement posted by Xiaomi on Mi Community of China, the company confirmed the upgrade to Android 11 for some Xiaomi and Redmi Smartphones released in 2019.

Η Xiaomi presented the MIUI 12 at the end of April, and since then, the third largest smartphone maker in the world, continues to update its devices in the latest version of Smartphone software.

Many of the company's flagships, the middle class, but also the low cost Smartphones have already received the update. Of course, several older devices still need to be upgraded, but unfortunately for the owners of  Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, have been permanently left out of the MIUI 12 upgrade list according to a recent company announcement, which negatively surprised many of the company's fans.

On the other hand, the most premium devices released in 2020, which have already been updated to MIUI 12, have also started receiving updates to Android 11. Therefore, the company has now revealed to us the next batch of devices that will receive the latest version of Android.

So, the following smartphones will start receiving its first Beta versions MIUI 12 based on Android 11, as soon as the program resumes after its pause starting from December 14.

  • Redmi Note 8
  • Notes redmi 8 Pro
  • Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro
  • Redmi K30S Ultra
  • My CC9 / Mi 9 Lite
  • Mi CC9 Meitu Edition
  • Mi 9 SE
  • My 9
  • We 9 Pro

It is not certain when the ROMs will be distributed with Android 11 build for the above Smartphones, as the company has suspended the beta program for a specific period of time from next week (December 14) before the release of the new MIUI 12.5.

It is certain that even after the release of these versions by the company, the final fixed update for different countries may take longer to become available to the owners of the above devices.

Note : The Redmi K30 4G, POCO X2, Redmi K30 5G, Mi CC9 Pro, Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition, Mi Note 10 and Mi 10 Pro released in 2019, have been receiving beta versions of MIUI 12 based on Android 11 for a few months now, and will gradually receive Android 11 in the stable versions of MIUI as well.
