Η Rakuten Viber, one of the world's leading applications for free and secure communication, announces that it will soon launch Group Video Calls, allowing the participation of up to 20 people, without limitation in duration.
ΕInspired by the huge success of Group Voice Calls, Viber has decided to add video as an option, responding to the growing need for video conferencing, which replaces face-to-face meetings, whether family, friendly or business.
Social distancing and gradual adaptation to a new normality forces people to reinvent the way they meet as a group. Whether they are cooking chefs or yoga instructors teaching their students proper breathing, all teams need a platform to continue their meetings.
With Group Video calling, they can now do so easily on Viber, with the ability to share screens and live video on both mobile and PC. Group Video Calls are a convenient addition to other Viber features, such as group chats for up to 250 people or group calls with up to 20 participants.
To start a Group Video Call a user simply needs:
- Press the new "video" button added at the top of the screen or add more users to a video call that has already started.
- Enjoy video calling with friends, family, or colleagues.
Group Video Calls show the speaker each time, showing their own video to all participants. Users can also choose whether to pin their own video to their screen or that of any participant they choose during the call, with the assurance that the one they "pin" will always be there only on their own screen.
Users can mute or deactivate their own video during the call, but also see if other users are muted or with the video off.
