Epic Games will give away a free game every two weeks, starting with Subnautica on December 14th.
ΠA few days ago we informed you that Epic Games was preparing to create its own digital game distribution platform. The Epic Games Store finally opened on Friday, December 7, giving us several surprises.
The first pleasant surprise is that Epic Games will give a free game to the users of the Epic Games Store every two weeks. From December 14th until December 27th you will be able to download Unknown Worlds Subnautica for free, while from December 28th until January 10th 2019 Super Meat Boy will be available for free.
At the moment the line-up of the Epic Games Store is small, as it includes Ashen, Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, Shadow Complex Remastered, Genesis Alpha One and the free-to-play Fortnite and Unreal Tournament. The second surprise is Supergiant Games' Hades, which is available in Early Access, exclusively on the Epic Games platform.
As we have said to you previous article Epic Games holds a very small "commission" from the developers, while Valve on the other hand keeps a 30% of the revenue from the sales of games on its platform. Supergiant Games chooses -at least for now- to sell Hades exclusively through the Epic Games Store and we are sure that other companies will follow its example.
