Banks: They will give compensation to victims of electronic fraud - What will apply to e-shops

Banks will now give compensation to the victims of electronic fraud, according to his bill Ministry of Development which will protect consumers, and which is under consultation.

According to the new regulations, in case of theft or loss of a bank card there will be compensation for damage over 50 euros. For example, if someone loses their card and the person who has made purchases of 200 euros with it, the bank will compensate 150 euro the one who has lost her. Provided, of course, that a declaration of loss has been made.

At the same time, to intercept his codes e-banking -a scam that is in… fashion lately and known as “Phishing“- the new consumer protection legislation will provide full compensation for damage over 1.000 euro from the bank. In other words, until 1.000 euro its owner is responsible e-banking. However, if a remittance is made, a money transfer of more than 1.000 euros, the difference is covered by the bank. In other words, the bank must be careful if it sees a transfer of more than 1.000 euros to a customer who is not used to such transactions.

What changes for E-shops

Finally, the procedures for the operation of online stores are being tightened. They should list it on their website VAT number, the number of the Commercial Register but also the professional license number. If any of these are missing, it will be imposed on them fine from 5.000 up to 1,5 million euros.

The fine can reach 3 million if the online store in question is fraudulent, while the website will also be able to be downloaded.
