Η TESLA it may be one of the biggest companies EV cars in terms of market capitalization, but so far this year, it has issued a total 18 recalls for various problems
Today the company announced the 19th recall in over 300.000 cars, as it was found that there is a problem with the reversing light.
In some vehicles of the model Tesla Model 3 which were released by 2020 to 2023, as well as on 2023 Y model, the taillights may “intermittently illuminate” due to an issue that can cause “incorrect fault detections during the vehicle wake-up process.”
This problem seems to affecting more than 321.000 cars and according to NHTSA, may "increase the risk of collision» in low light conditions, as the rear lights do not work properly.
Fortunately though as with most Tesla cars, it's a problem that can be fixed simply with a software update over-the-air. But despite the fact that most of these problems can be solved very easily through a firmware update and there is no need to visit a service centers of the company, the TESLA is required under US law to issue a recall notice – unlike for example our smartphones.
After all, if these problems are not addressed in time, they can put yourself and other drivers at risk.
At the moment the software update is available only to the affected units, while the rest of the cars that are in the production process or expected to be delivered to their owners after the 6 November 2022, the related problem has been fixed by the factory.
