Αto be honest: Companies need to do much more to collect and recycle their waste to reduce their impact on the environment.

Most technology giants have set various goals for the sustainability of the environment, including the use of recycled plastic and neutral carbon emissions to achieve this. Although companies are making steady progress in this area, this effort is still not enough.

Now h Samsung proceeded today to a important announcement, as it states that has developed a "new material", using discarded fishing nets scattered across the oceans, and the company says it will use this new material in its future devices, starting with Galaxy S22 which is expected to be released later this week.

However Samsung does not mention any additional details on how but also plastic parts of its devices would be replaced with this new material. Nevertheless, surely this move made by Samsung will mark another step in the company's move to eliminate disposable plastics in its products.

The 2019, The Korean smartphone maker had promised to switch to new environmentally sustainable packaging for its products, as well as recycled and organic plastics.

Cited report of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Samsung underlines at communication of that up to 640.000 tons fishing nets are abandoned every year, destroying marine life and harming them coral reefs and other habitats.

The Korean smartphone maker has therefore decided to collect and reuse these abandoned fishing nets at a distance 50 km from the coast, and will use them on family devices Galaxy, reducing their environmental impact and helping to clean the oceans.

As the company points out,

this will be one of the first vital steps for keeping our oceans clean, as well as for the sustainability of the planet and our collective future.

Given its scale and size Samsung and the huge number of products it sells, this move is expected to have a positive impact on the environment in the long run.

It is certain that the Samsung will present in detail this new material that will accompany its devices at its event Galaxy Unpacked 2022 to be held later this week.
