Σat the 2018 Samsung OLED Forum the company announced that it is working on a number of new technologies related to OLED screens. These include:
- on-screen fingerprint sensor
- sensors below the screen (including camera)
- touch sensitivity technology
- on-screen audio output technology (as in the original Xiaomi Mi Mix)
The technologies are not unknown to us but now that Samsung is actively working on them we hope to see them in the near future. The technology we will see first seems to be the on-screen camera, with the first model making its appearance next year or 2020. There are rumors that we will see the Galaxy S10 with such a selfie-cam, but we can not confirm the news.
Samsung is also working on a gaming smartphone with haptic on display technology on the on-screen gaming keys. There are no details about this technology, which will change the way we touch the screens of our mobile phones and tablets. We expect more from the Korean company in the coming months.
