Samsung took to its stage today The Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco to announce the new Galaxy S23 series devices

The company's new family of devices consists of Samsung Galaxy 23, S23+ and S3 Ultra, which come with screens 6.1-inch, 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch respectively. From a design point of view, the new models are very similar to its predecessors, but this year it is missing contour cut in the camera module. The devices are expected to be available in four colors, Phantom Black, Cream, Green and Lavender.

The new devices focus on the triple camera, gaming and sustainability. Samsung's goal is to deliver a professional camera experience to all device owners galaxy 23, although its owners Galaxy s23 ultra they get, as can be expected, the little extra. In turn, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset promises excellent performance, both in multitasking and gaming.

This is actually the first series Galaxy S which circulates in Europe with Qualcomm chipsets. Until last year, Samsung supplied its devices with its own series chipsets Exynos, which unfortunately did not have the best possible thermal behavior, resulting in throttling phenomena. On the sustainability front, Samsung is showing its environmental awareness in practice by using even more recycled materials.

Eco-friendly design

As we mentioned above, Samsung has made clear its intention to use more recycled products and demonstrate its commitment to reducing the company's carbon footprint. The series started last year galaxy 22, where the Galaxy S22 Ultra used six internal components, which were made from recycled materials. This year, that number doubles and we have a total of 12 internal components, made from recycled plastic.

More specifically, the upper speaker module, the side button, as well as the volume buttons are made from recycled water collection barrels. Its inner cover S Pen, the bottom speaker module, as well as the 5G antenna (US and Japan models only) are in turn made from recycled fishing nets. Samsung claims that in this way fishing net waste will be reduced by 15 tons by the end of 2023.

Finally, part of the glass on the back of the device, as well as part of the front panel, are made from recycled plastic bottles PET. Samsung has also used several pre-consumer recycled materials, such as glass on the front and back of the device, as well as recycled aluminum in the SIM tray.

It is also worth noting that the front screen is protected by scratch-resistant glass Gorilla Glass Victus 2 by Corning, which is made of 22% recycled material. Of course, all the packages of Galaxy S23 they are made from 100% recycled paper and contain no plastic at all.

Professional camera experience even in low light conditions

The Galaxy s22 ultra offered a great camera experience, but this year the company is ready to go the extra mile by improving low-light shots. It also promises even more detailed shots and features that enhance the photography experience.

His primary weapon Galaxy s23 ultra is its primary sensor with resolution 200MP. The sensor combines practically 16 pixels in a larger pixel, for brighter and more detailed photos even in night shots. Function Night Portrait promises an impressive bokeh effect, with analysis of the distance from the object and its separation from the background. At the same time, AI analyzes hair, eyes and skin separately for even more impressive selfies. Samsung also uses the technology Noise Reduction, an AI-based solution to detect noise in low-light shots and offer even greater clarity to the user.

Many companies have been focusing on astrophotography lately, and Samsung could be no exception. Thanks to the function astro hyperlapse is offered 300x zoom, enabling you to take stunning photos of the stars and the night sky. Apart from astrophotos, the manufacturer also promises even sharper selfies with it 12MP sensor. It is also supported Super HDR at 60fps for greater dynamic color range. Closing the camera section, we note that the main sensor can take video in 8K resolution at 30fps.

Gaming and autonomy

The chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 it promises great gaming performance and we imagine it won't suffer from thermal throttling like we saw in last year's Samsung Exynos chipset.

In terms of battery capacity, the S23 has the smallest capacity with 3.900mAhWhile S23Ultra has the largest capacity with 5.000mAh. Meanwhile, the S23+ has capacity 4.700mAh.
