Xiaomi is preparing to launch the global version of its series Redmi Note 12 in India on 5 January, which will include three devices: the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus
According to recent teasers and leaks, these three devices are expected to have the same specifications and design as their Chinese counterparts, however, some of the posters released yesterday show that the Vanilla version of the series may differ slightly from the corresponding Chinese version.
According to the official renders published by Xiaomi India, its basic version Redmi Note 12 which will be launched in India will feature triple camera setup. For those who don't know, the Chinese model has a dual camera system.
Η Xiaomi India confirmed that the main camera on the smartphone will be in 48MP, which is the same as that of the Chinese version, but unfortunately, the company has not yet revealed anything about the other two cameras.
Since the Chinese variant comes with 2MP depth sensor, the global version could come with one extra Macro camera at 2MP. We don't think Xiaomi will include an extra UltraWide camera in the global variant of the device.
The rest of the specifications of the base version of the Redmi Note 12 are expected to be similar to the corresponding Chinese version. The global variant of the Redmi Note 12 will be equipped with 6,67-inch AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution with a renewal rate of 120Hz , with the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, a camera selfie at 8MP and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The device will “run” it MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and will be powered by one battery at 5,000mAh with fast charging at 33W.
