Today we have one for you WekiHome teardown video of RedMi K60 Series Smartphones, which reveals some interesting similarities between the Redmi K60 and the K60 Pro
Xiaomi managed to sell 300.000 Redmi K60 phones in just 5 minutes, and below is a detailed teardown of WekiHome, which reveals some interesting similarities between Redmi K60 and K60 Pro.
As it turns out, the two phones are almost identical, and Xiaomi probably found a way to simplify the assembly process. The model Pro uses a larger camera sensor (1/1,49” IMX890) from the base model (1/2” OV64B40), and Xiaomi used a plastic bracket around the K60's camera to accommodate its dimensions.
Another big difference between the two models is the chipset and memory. The Redmi K60 Pro uses the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, has storage UFS 4.0 from Samsung and LPDDR5X RAM from Micron. On the other hand, h vanilla version of the series uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5 from Samsung, however the motherboard layout is almost similar.
Xiaomi used one huge vapor chamber (VC) for cooling so it manages to keep the chipsets cool, and the size of these chambers is really impressive! Interestingly, there are slight differences between them, which suggests that we are dealing with two separate suppliers.
On the motherboard – the charging chip Surge P1 located at the bottom. There is another difference, the small plaque on which the USB-C port it has an extra chip to handle wired fast charging 120w on Redmi K60 Pro.
In the Vanilla version the board is the same, but the wireless charging chip is missing. Also, the K60's battery is slightly larger than the Pro's, both in capacity and physical dimensions, however, the two models are as similar as possible.
