RealMe: He was caught stealing from Antutu with the RealMe GT and "ate" a three-month ban from the platform

The RealMe GT was found to be "stealing" in Antutu with unrealistic performance, as a result of which the device was excluded from the platform for three months.

ΚAt various times, various Smartphone manufacturers have been accused of trying to show that their own Smartphones perform better than their competitors, but using unfair means, such as the irregular overclock under special circumstances or even direct intervention in the Benchmark code they use.

The last case of deception with the above methodology is RealMe to RealMe GT.

As Antutu states in an announcement on Weibo, the RealMe appeared in Realme gt excessive scores by cheating Antutu's evaluation methodology, and recording the score of ~ 750.000 which does not correspond to the real capabilities of the device, but is the result of a cheat.

As a result, Antutu also deducted the ~ 750.000 points the device brought from its database. Note that the alleged score recorded by RealMe GT is much higher than his score My 11 of Xiaomi (~ 708.000), and as Antutu reports this number "was not a result of the actual capabilities of the device, but was obtained by deception and other means».

But how did RealMe manage to fool Antutu in the performance tests with the Realme GT?

As the Antutu, RealMe made "interventions" in the way the program manages the processing of multiple threads (threads) during the workload, but also with direct intervention in the JPG images used by the program to measure the performance of the device.

According to information provided to us by Antutu, RealMe used special methods of delay in performing the tests in Multithead test, in order to use as much time as possible the fastest CPU cores and not the weaker cores as it should be, resulting in record a higher score than normal.

Also the RealMe "Modified" them JPG reference images used by Antutu, and instead of processing the original high-resolution images, it replaced them with color mosaic blocks to drastically reduce image quality. This in turn resulted in shorter processing times and too high a score.

The Antutu notes that both of these tactics are contrary to the valuation method, and therefore the company has deducted all the results recorded by the Realme gt for three months. He has also published ultimatum to Realme, stating that if the company does not modify the way the phone completes the Benchmark, it will permanently exclude the phone from its benchmarking platform Antutu.

Η Realme Of course, this is not the first company that has tried to defraud benchmarks on various performance appraisal platforms. Last year in particular, several of her Smartphones OPPO with MediaTek SoC, were accused of interfering with the way PCMark runs in order to record higher scores. As well as the Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus and Meizu have been accused of the same "sins" and tactics in the past.

For companies, benchmarks on various benchmarking platforms are an easy and powerful marketing tool. Undoubtedly, these numbers can influence a potential buyer not to focus entirely on other features or specifications of the device.

Realme tried with this tactic of "Dare to Cheat", To do it Realme gt to stand out from other devices that have the same Snapdragon 888 SoC, recording results that are not real, and creating the false impression that its own device is superior to its competitors.
