Η POCO today added two Smartphones to its collection with  AMOLED screens, one Mid-Ranger of X series with an improved camera and a 4G version of Poco M4 Pro.

ΟThe two new devices were presented at an event that took place today, and below we will give you in detail all their specifications.

Poco X4Pro 5G

This is the top mid-range device in the X series, and the device is now being upgraded to AMOLED screen in relation to its predecessor. New Poco X4Pro 5G has one 6,67 inch AMOLED panel with analysis in 1.080 x 2.400 px and ratio to 20:9. Like last year's X3 Pro, this screen has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, however, the touch sampling rate has improved to 360 Hz (from 240 Hz).

The screen is brighter, with typical brightness until 700 nits (from 450 nits) and in 1.200 nits maximum, and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, instead of GG6 that had last year's X3 Pro.

But in reality, this phone is not an immediate upgrade from the X3 Pro. New Poco X4Pro 5G focuses mainly on the screen, the camera and the battery, while on other specifications such as the SoC we do not have serious upgrades as it is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695.

That's it 695 Snapdragon SoC which is made in 6 nm is its continuation SD 690 with 15% higher CPU performance (thanks to the two cores Cortex-A76 at 2,2 GHz + 6x A55 at 1,8 GHz) and with 30% higher GPU performance (Adreno 619). It's a good and fast SoC, but in no way can it be directly compared to 860 Snapdragon SoC that fed the X3 Pro, especially in the GPU.

The device is available in two configurations of RAM and storage 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB and has support for dual SIM with hybrid socket, which means you can add a microSD card if you do not need a second SIM.

Via the special function of virtual RAM (Virtual RAM) available at MIUI 13, you can add extra 2 GB RAM in the model with 6 GB Furthermore 3 GB in the model with 8 GB.

The device supports connectivity to  sub-6 5G networks, has a headphone jack 3,5 mm, audio certification Hi-Res, has IR blaster (remote control), Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC.

The main camera of the device receives a remarkable upgrade, with a large sensor on 108 MP (1 / 1,56 ”) compared to the 48 MP (1/2,0”) that the Poco X3 Pro. This sensor gives much better results in photos under low light conditions, since with the combination of pixel (9-in-1 binning) produces a pixel the size of 2,1 μm (with the lens aperture being at f / 1,9).

The other cameras include one UltraWide lens with sensor in 8 MP (118 ° FoV, f / 2,2) and a Macro camera at 2 MP, and this time the depth sensor is completely absent. For the front Selfie camera we have a sensor in 16 MP (f / 2.4), which is a slight degradation from the 20 MP (f / 2.2) sensor of last year's X3 Pro.

The battery is also different. It is still quite large in 5.000 mAh (160 mAh less), but now charges twice as much power at 67 W (from 33 W), while the charger is included in the package.

According to the company, a fully charged battery is enough for 15 hours of video playback, and once it is exhausted, the charger can reset up to 70% in about 20 minutes, while full charge at 100% is achieved in just 41 minutes.

The dimensions of the phone have been reduced and now it is thick in 8,12 mm (from 9,4 mm) and weight in 205 gr of (from 215 g). It still has IP53 certification for dust and water resistance as well dual speakers and Z-axis linear vibration motor.

Prices and availability

The phone will be available in three colors: Laser Black, Laser Blue and Poco Yellow.

The Poco X4Pro 5G will be available from 2 March with several discounts. The MSRP of the device with 6/128 GB is at € 300, but there will be "early bird" discount 30€ for the first sale of the device.

Also on 2 March there will be one more discount 20 € but only for one day, reducing the price to 250€.

The model with 8/256 GB has MSRP at 350 €, but will have the same discount €30 + €20 (note that the second discount will only be available on 2 March).

Poco M4 Pro

Η 5G version of Poco M4 Pro was announced last year, and now comes the Poco M4 Pro (4G) which of course is equipped with a different chipset, but this time the screen of the device is AMOLED, and is the first M series device to receive an AMOLED display.

The 4G model therefore has one AMOLED panel at 6,43 ” which replaces the 6,6" IPS LCD screen that it had Poco M4 Pro 5G, but still offers resolution at 1.080 x 2.400 px in proportion to 20:9 and refresh rate at 90 Hz. Touch sampling is on 180 Hz and the screen is protected from the classic Gorilla Glass 3. This screen is brighter with the standard brightness in 700 nits (versus 450 nits) and 1.000 nits maximum.

The Poco M4 Pro (4G) is now equipped with Mediatek Helio G96 SoC, which replaces the Dimension 810 5G which has the 5G version. The octa-core CPU has the same large cores (a pair of Cortex-A76) although it operates at 2,05 GHz (compared to 2,4 GHz), while the GPU is still the Mali G57 MC2.

Note that the Helio G96 is made in 12 nm, and therefore will not be as energy efficient even if it offers almost the same efficiency.

The new Poco M4 Pro (4G) will not be available at 4/64 GB, but will be offered in two options at 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB (LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 for storage), while you can add one microSD card if you need more storage space.

In terms of cameras, the device is equipped with one main sensor at 64 MP (0,7 μm pixels, 1,4 μm with binning, f / 1,8), one UltraWide lens with sensor in  8 MP (118 °), and one Macro camera in 2 MP. The front Selfie camera has a sensor in 16 MP.

The battery remains in capacity at 5.000 mAh and thanks to the charger provided in 33 W, the battery can be charged to 100% in about 1 hour and has autonomy in 2 days with typical use before it needs to be recharged.

Like its predecessor, the M4 Pro offers a headphone jack on the 3,5 mm (with certification Hi-Res audio), he's got dual speakers, Z-axis linear vibration motor, IR blaster and NFC. The device still has the fingerprint sensor on the side, despite switching to an AMOLED screen.

The phone is generally thinner and lighter, with dimensions in 8,09 mm and weight in 179,5 gr of, and is still certified IP53 for protection against dust and water drops.

Prices and availability

The phone will be available at Power Black, Cool Blue and Poco Yellow Colour.

The price for Poco M4 Pro starts from 220€ for the model 6 / 128 GB, while the model with 8/256 GB is priced at € 270.. However, there will be a discount here as well 20 € + 20 € for the 2nd of March.
