POCO M3 & Redmi 9T : Not turning on after upgrading to MIUI or rebooting (Recovery Guide)

mitu-guide-logo

There have been several reports from our members in the community forum lately about POCO M3 and redmi 9T that do not light up again after a reboot or upgrade to MIUI.

ΈThis problem has occurred on several devices that, after a software upgrade or restart, do not reactivate and remain in Brick (brick).

When we connect it to the computer the above Smartphones that have fallen into this strange state, appear in the Windows device manager as Qualcomm HS-USB Loader 9008, but because bug / software in Power Controller, it is impossible to reset the devices.

Fortunately, there are several ways to solve this problem, and we present them to you below.

1. Go to Mi Service Center

If the device is still under warranty, the best thing to do in this case is to visit and deliver your device to the Mi Service Center. There they are obliged to exchange your device with another or return it repaired. If your device is under warranty, you can get rid of this problem free of charge, otherwise you will be charged for the repair.

2. Discharge your phone

A second solution to overcome this problem is to fully discharge your phone. Even if your phone is really turned on, it still consumes power, but of course this power consumption is quite low and it will take some time until it is fully discharged.

All you have to do is put your device on the table without plugging in the charger and wait a few days. If your battery is around 10%, the phone will discharge in 1 or 2 days, if it is around 50% in 7 days, and if it is around 100% in 14 days.

To see if your phone is fully discharged and can now be turned on again, just hold down and hold your phone's power button for a few seconds. If the battery is discharged, you will see a battery icon on the screen.

When you see this battery icon, you can connect your phone to the charger and turn it on. We recommend that you do not restart the device until the battery charge exceeds 5% - 10% or even more, to be safe.

3. Repair the PMIC (built-in power management circuit)

In case the above two ways do not cover you, and if you are good at Smartphone repairs and you get your hands dirty, then you may be able to follow the instructions below.

This problem can be overcome by replacing 2 resistors inside the PMIC. Once you do this, fast charging will no longer work on your phone, however, you will get rid of this problem once and for all. We only recommend that experienced professionals or professionals try this method, otherwise it may cause permanent damage, and your device may never be switched on.

Open the back cover of the phone and remove the motherboard. Turn on the bottom of the motherboard and heat the metal cover shown in the photo below and remove it.

Remove the two resistors highlighted in the photo. Install it resistance number 2 in his place number 1. Her position resistance 2 should be left blank.

The result after the changes you made to the resistors will be as shown in the photo below.

You can then reinstall the metal cover and other parts of the removed phone and turn on the device.

You can repair your Redmi 9T devices and POCO M3 that do not turn on thanks to these methods, and we recommend that you do not buy these devices from vendors that do not cover warranty.

Who actually writes down these articles?
Does he/she even really know about what is writing?

Those are not resistors but capacitors and no, you don't need to remove them, leave them in place where they are!
Is this “fix” even something which Xiaomi is aware of??

REMOVE ONLY THE LID

FIX here @XDA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/poco-m3-does-not-turn-on-anymore.4286783/post-85692315
I tried this myself and it worked flawlessly

Me parece que los redmi 9t son mala calidad teléfonos, como es posible que por reinitiar el celular se pague y no encienda. I did it twice, the first time I had to pay for the repair and the second time they couldn’t do anything…..Es un celular con poco tiempo de uso y sin superchargedado mucho y que no prenda por reiniciarlo, que engaño son esos telefonos…..

Try to leave the device for several days to fully discharge the battery before recharging.

However, after many attempts to solve it with the first solutions without opening the device, I took the phone to Infoquest from where I bought it (I'm unlucky because the warranty had expired 1 month ago). I explained to the employee the problem that the phone would not turn on after installing the latest update. After he received the device, he pointed out to me repeatedly to confirm that if there is a problem with the board, I will be informed about the charge. I repeated to him that the problem arose after the update and he didn't have a problem of overheating or falling into water and he answered me again, yes but if there is a problem with the board I will be informed (I should point out that I don't play games on the phone and it is only for work). Finally guess there was a problem or a board and they want €120 including VAT.... Hahaha!!!!! I bought it from the Mi store in Golden Hall €150 !!!!
