CAUTION ! A new attempt is being made to steal your account details at PayPal via mail from fake Servers that copy the company page.

Λwe just launched once again, a new Fake Mail, this time for allegedly updating transactions that took place in January 2022 with the content you see below, in an attempt to steal your login credentials at PayPal.

As you can see in the picture above, they tell you that there is a ready update of the account activity for November, while it is not excluded that you you have money in your account, to pique your interest (to fish you together) and go to their fake pages.

If you also have an account at PAYPAL, and receive an e-mail with similar content, forward it immediately to PAYPAL in the e-mail spoof@paypal.com and delete it immediately from your mailbox.

You will receive a short message from official Paypal who will thank you for your report like the following text we received.

Dear Xiaomi Miui Hellas, Thanks for letting us know about the suspicious website you visited. We'll investigate it, and may contact you with additional details. If you clicked on any links or downloaded any attachments within the suspicious website, log into your PayPal account and view your account activity. If you see any unauthorized transactions, go to the Resolution Center to report it. It's also a good idea to change your password. Additional Information & Help You can learn more about fake websites and spoof by visiting our Help Center. Click Help & Contact on any page and then search for "fake websites and emails" and "spoof". You can also find help on changing your password and viewing your account activity in the Help Center. Thanks for being a PayPal customer, PayPal Security ***************************************** **************************** Please do not reply to this email. It is an attempt at fraud through her Phising method to extract your account information and steal all the money you may have in Paypal.

Do not click on any of the links it contains because it will lead you to one fake clone of Paypal page and you may also fall victim to malware on your mobile phone or PC with unforeseen consequences for the security of your personal data and the accounts you maintain to log in to your bank via WebBanking.

In the mail there is a link that supposedly refers you to paypal.gr but is fake - is a clone of the official Paypal page to trick you into filling out your details like user Name you and him your password, and in this way to skimp everything you have in Paypal.

Not only that, but if you have connected it Paypal with your credit card or any of the bank accounts you have, even if you do not have money in Paypal, they will withdraw money from your bank account, with successive withdrawals.

As you can see below, clicking on one of the links in the mail you receive will lead to dangerous pages, which are immediately recognized and blocked by a protection program that you have on your PC (in our case the BitDefenter)

We received this type of Mail a while ago, and we considered it our obligation to inform you immediately.

Disseminate this information to friends and relatives to alert them and protect them from this threat.

See how to deal with scam emails and suspicious activity

The Email scam they aim to deceive you, so they always make sure they look like what you are familiar with.
However, you can easily tell if something is wrong by checking a few small details.

  • Verify the sender's address

Stay away from weird addresses. In Greece, a valid PayPal address includes the domain name of paypal.gr.

  • Do not hurry

Many fraudulent emails indicate that your account is at risk if you do not immediately update some very important information. It's not true.

  • Check your PayPal account first

If a suspicious email notifies you that you have received money, log in to your PayPal account to verify that it is valid.

  • Be wary of impersonal greetings

Emails calling you "Dear user", or "Dear [email address]" do not come from PayPal.

  • Do not ignore typographical and grammatical errors

Emails from reputable companies almost never contain spelling or grammatical errors. If you notice errors, it is probably phishing.

  • Do not open any attachments

Emails actually coming from PayPal never contain attachments. Never open an attachment unless you are absolutely sure it is from a trusted source, as it may contain spyware or viruses.
