After its release MIUI 13 , unfortunately for some users, they will have to wait for the Xiaomi or Redmi Their devices will be one step closer in the EoL (on End of Life), especially if they are quite old.
Ο term EOL (end of life) or EOS (End Of Support) used for a smartphone that officially will no longer receive updates, neither for Xiaomi's MIUI operating system, nor for the upgrade to new Android versions.
So, after the unofficial lists we saw several days ago, now we have it for you official list published by Xiaomi itself, for all smartphones that will no longer receive updates on Android, but also security code updates.
Below we have an excerpt from the same announcement that Xiaomi has posted on its official page.
The lists were updated on 02/06/2022
Overview of product support policy
We do our best to provide you with ongoing security updates for our smartphones, covering brands Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO. Security updates generally include the latest security patches, vulnerability fixes, and other security enhancements.
Usually, we will keep the security updates for at least 2 years after the first release of a particular device model. We will publish and regularly update the following list of products that enter the phase end-of-support (EOS), to help you check if your smartphone can receive security updates.
***We can support security updates for 3 years or more for some models that are subject to actual conditions. If a very serious security vulnerability is detected, we may also provide the necessary security fixes, even if your device is no longer supported.
Devices for which support is completely stopped (EOS - EOL)
We are no longer updating software or firmware updates (including security updates) for products on the EOS list of products listed below, and we may no longer respond to security vulnerability reports for these devices.
