Η Nikon presents in CES 2020 a high-performance DSLR that offers creative photographers everything they want from a full-frame camera and more.
Ωas a reliable partner for bold all-weather creators, the Nikon D780 takes photos or videos with the same glow.
The rugged D780 features a fast and exclusive combined AF system for live projection photography, as well as a fast and powerful 51-point phase-detection AF system for viewfinder photography. When shooting in Live View, photographers and video creators benefit from the same AF system as the famous Nikon Z 6 mirrorless camera.
Users can lock expressions with Eye Detection AF and take advantage of AF in low light conditions, which enhances reliable subject acquisition up to -6 EV. Viewfinder photographers enjoy top-of-the-line shooting performance and fast switching between advanced AF modes.
Fast burst speeds add to the flexibility of this camera: up to 7 frames per second (fps) when shooting with a viewfinder and 12 frames per second (fps) in the Live Shot mode when shooting with Live View.
Other notable features include the 1/8000 s lightning fast shutter speed, which gives photographers the flexibility to sync with Nikon Speedlight flashes. Alternatively they can extend the time up to 900 seconds, ideal for capturing impressive light trails and night landscapes.
Video shooters will love the quality of the shots they can achieve with the D780. The camera uses 6K image sensor resolution to produce ultra-high definition 4K / UHD shots at 30p / 25p / 24p with zero cropping factor.
Video creators can also use an external video recorder to capture rich HLG HDR footage, which can be viewed live on a compatible TV or monitor.

AF WITH SHOOTING. The 51-point phase-detection AF system is sensitive to -3 EV. Get top-of-the-line monitoring capabilities and fast switching between advanced AF modes.
AF LIVE VIEW. The 273-point Combined AF system is sensitive to -4 EV or up to -6 EV in low light AF.¹ Eye Detection AF is available when taking photos.
SPEED SPEED UP TO 12 frames per second (FPS). Shoot at up to 7 frames per second (fps) with AF / AE or at up to 12 frames per second (fps) in Live Photo Sound mode. Users have full resolution photos, even when shooting in RAW.
OPTICAL VIEWPAPER AND TILTING TOUCH SCREEN. The 0,70x optical viewfinder offers a wide field of view and 100% coverage. The 2359k-dot reclining LCD screen offers touch shutter and AF release.
TOP IMAGE QUALITY. Mounting lenses F. Full frame 24,5 MP CMOS sensor. EXPEED image processor 6. The same goes for the 180K-pixel RGB sensor and advanced scene recognition system like the D850.
EXTREMELY LARGE WIDE ISO. The D780 has a wider ISO range than the famous D850. Work with ISO 100-51200, which can be extended to 204800 and reduced to up to ISO 50.
VIDEO DSLR FULL FRAME. Capture ultra-high resolution 4K / UHD shots at 30p / 25p / 24p with zero cropping rate. Capture video with N-Log or capture rich Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) footage.
CREATIVE FREEDOM. Ability to capture time-lapse video integrated in the camera. 2 MP photos with lightning capture at 120 frames per second (fps). Digitization menu built into the camera. And much more.
QUICK TRANSPORT OF PHOTOS. The camera's high-speed data transfer capabilities and wireless connectivity make it easy to spread photos around the world. And SnapBridge allows users to share JPEG and RAW files with any smart device.
