MIUI 15 gets more customization options
With Android 14, Google is now considering introducing customizable lock screens. The lock screen in Android 14 allows you to disable your watch with a variety of different options. MIUI 15 will bring more privacy improvements
One of the biggest differences on the privacy and security side that comes with Android 14 is that the new update will now block the installation of old Android apps.
Google says that this change will mainly target apps built with the API Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and earlier versions. This change is quite significant, given that malware often targets apps that use older APIs. This change means that many abandoned apps (eg old games) cannot be installed on Android 14.
Another change is that you will be able to disable Animations when entering your PIN. This will make it harder for anyone peeking in to see what you've entered on the screen and remember your PIN.
Currently, this feature is disabled by default. Google is also fighting malware and exploits by tweaking the system for dynamically loading code from apps in the Play Store.
MIUI 15 will of course have all these features and changes implemented in Android 14 and Xiaomi may also make some additional changes and additions to its own UI.
Other innovations and changes coming to MIUI 15
Another new feature coming with Android 14 includes some cool animations on the lock screen when typing your PIN.
