Xiaomi launches the “Razor Project” in MIUI 14, which promises significant performance improvements while also reducing the size of ROMs

As is already known, the coming Thursday December 1st, Xiaomi along with its flagship series Xiaomi 13, will also present us with the MIUI 14 which is the next version of the company's operating system, which is embedded in all Smartphones it releases.

Xiaomi has promised that MIUI 14 will be free of the annoying ads and the unnecessary Bloodware that exists in MIUI 13, and that we will be able to uninstall from the system as many applications that we do not need.

All these improvements and changes that the company will implement have integrated them into a new "Razor Project", which promises to bring us significant improvements in the overall performance of devices, while also reducing the size of ROMs.

The improvements that the Razor Project brings to MIUI 14

So in summary, the “RazorProject” launched by Xiaomi in MIUI 14 will offer the following welcome improvements:

  • Compared to the previous generation of MIUI 13, the overall size of MIUI 14 has been reduced by 23%.
  • We will be able to check one by one all the unnecessary applications and services that autostart on the system
  • We will also be able to see the memory usage that these apps and system services are taking up, and delete or block them to free up as much memory usage at device startup as possible. In this way, the performance of the devices will be significantly improved, as well as the autonomy of the battery.
  • Now the total number of apps that cannot be uninstalled from the MIUI system is reduced to 8.

I hope the new MIUI 14 finally lives up to our expectations, and stops showing up those annoying ads and useless bloatware slowing down our devices.

We also hope that MIUI 14 will be free from the annoying Bugs that continue to plague us every now and then. The bad thing is, of course, that many older devices will not receive an upgrade to the new operating system, because the new ROMs will be based on Android 13 and those devices that have not been upgraded to it will be left out of the upgrade list.
