Letter to Xiaomi: Open letter of "protest" to Xiaomi from many of its fans

Η Xiaomi seems to be having a lot of problems with Global and ESA versions of MIUI, and now friends and fans of the company have created an open letter of protest to try to persuade her to change policy.

ΜSome of the problems listed in the letter are the problematic software on new devices becoming available for the first time (at the beginning of their sales), the poor quality and ineffectiveness of updates to fix the recorded bugs, the ads that even appear in system applications, but mainly the loss of many good features and functions that while there are in Chinese versions of MIUI, have been removed from the respective Global & EEA publications.

The patience of the users is over and now they are trying to contact Xiaomi through an open letter they have written, aiming at the best support for the global versions of MIUI.

At the beginning of the letter, the company's enthusiastic Fan reminds Xiaomi that from the beginning of its creation, the company had promised and set a goal to provide high quality and affordable devices. However, one of the elements that made Xiaomi known worldwide and made it stand out from all other OEM manufacturers of Smartphones, is MIUI, which has been characterized as the best Skin in the field of Android.

Unfortunately for Xiaomi, it seems that Xiaomi has begun to move away from the goals and promises it has made in the past, and one of the main problems now facing users who have devices that wear the Global & ESA versions of MIUI, is that a number of applications and features that exist in the Chinese versions of MIUI have been removed and replaced by corresponding Google applications.

But apart from the above, the global versions of MIUI are poorly optimized, often have many bugs (BUGS) and do not have good support from the company's Developers.

Sometimes it even takes several months for Xiaomi developers to fix some bugs, causing device users to suffer all this time. Company employees should be required to regularly visit various forums and social networks to understand the scale of the problems and to listen to the thousands of users who ask to fix all these BUGs recorded by them, in order to improve Global MIUI versions, but apparently do not.

In the letter, the company's fans also point out that the functionality between the Chinese and Global versions of MIUI is completely different, and is worse in the Global versions.

The functionality offered by MIUI China ROMs is richer, more carefully structured and the firmware itself is more stable than the corresponding Global versions. There are also big differences in app optimization, and a shocking example is that the Chinese version of the app for its camera We 10 Pro takes much better photos than the corresponding application that exists in the Global & ESA editions.

One of the main reasons for the poor software support is the diversity of the lineups of the devices on the market. As you know, Xiaomi is releasing every now and then many devices and in many variants and clones aimed at different markets, which means that the number of models that need software support is increasing. The result of all this company policy is that developers simply do not have the time they need to tackle any issues with the code embedded in MIUI, with users suffering from problems for a long time. until they finally get a proper update on the software that will solve them.

In addition to the above complaints, Xiaomi fans are also unhappy with the fact that many of the company's new Gadgets and other devices that are part of its ecosystem, while available in China, are not available in other markets, including Europe.

There is also great dissatisfaction with the continuous increase in the prices of its products. Prices continue to rise while support is deteriorating.

At the end of the letter, the company's fans point out that Xiaomi is no longer the company that produced devices with the best price / quality ratio where the user and his needs were in the first place, and not the sales.

We hope that the company will listen to all its friends and fans outside of China, and go back to the old roots and values it once had, and focus more on the software it provides to its devices.
