Σits echo arrest of CFO and daughter of Huawei founder a few days ago in Canada, but also after the repeated "blows" received by the Chinese company from the USA and its allies (see Australia and New Zealand), now another country is coming to be added to those suspected of espionage on behalf of the Chinese government.
So, Japan is taking turns in this carousel, as it is expected that it will announce soon ban on the use of equipment by Huawei and ZTE in government agencies. The information comes from Reuters and it remains to be seen if it will be verified in the coming days.
But outside of Japan, there is a Bloomberg report that talks about similar actions by the European Union! The network cites discussions by government officials in Germany, France and the United Kingdom about the security of Huawei's 5G networks on the old continent. In particular, the UK government is under intense pressure from MI6 to ban any Huawei involvement in the 5G networks, while provider BT Group has already begun removing the Chinese company's equipment from the existing 3G and 4G networks.
At the moment we do not have any official position from Huawei, which, however, in the past has categorically denied any direct connection with the Chinese government and of course, any intention of espionage.
The issue is very juicy and the developments are expected with great interest.
