Η government of India ordered the Internet companies to block 67 porn sites, following court orders and for breaching the new IT rules issued in 2021
In an email sent to Internet service providers, the Department of Telecommunications (Dot) asked them to block 63 websites based on her court order Pune and additional 4 sites based on the order of the Supreme Court Uttarakhand, but also the instructions issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Informatics (MeitY).
The new regulation IT 2021 invoked by MeiY, compels all IT companies to remove or disable access to content hosted, stored or published by them digital material that “displays fully or partially naked persons and women or shows or depicts such persons in any sexual act or behavior” as well as and any other digital content allegedly impersonated or artificially formatted.
