ΤThe launch of Xiaomi's first Mi Store in India took place in 2017 and since then the company has continued to expand its network with more stores to gain more visibility.
Yesterday Xiaomi India announced the opening of 500 stores simultaneously, setting a Guinness World Record. The event actually took place on October 29, but the company needed to see the GWR set up before announcing the achievement. In a tweet that followed, Xiaomi India explained that its expansion is part of a "New Retail" model. for India, where it aims to provide a "unique in-store experience" to customers in rural areas.
The company sets even bigger goals for 2019 - to open 5.000 new stores and employ more than 15.000 people across the country.
These 500 new stores can be a way for villagers to reach India, and a well-structured strategy for the company to have even greater reach in its most successful market.
