Three major mobile phone providers in South Korea have launched the commercialization of 5G networks, with SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus celebrating it with a countdown and celebrating this new era in mobile telephony and data connectivity, while then the first video call was made via 5G connection.
The commercialization of 5G networks started in 13 cities of South Korea, with the mobile phone companies promising to expand to even more cities until the release of the first 5G smartphones in 2019. The first video call was made by the CEO of SK Telecom, Park Jung-ho, who used a 5G smartphone from Samsung.
It is not known which smartphone has been modified so that it can connect to 5G networks and while many might say that it is a prototype of the 5G Galaxy S10, there are some who say that we have a modified Galaxy S9 +, with the most important of all be that Samsung is moving into the 5G era and show it with actions, with the CEO of Samsung's mobile division, DJ Koh, stating that Samsung Electronics is working with SK Telecom to accelerate the commercialization of 5G networks.
