Όas expected, the Epic Games held the opening of its own video games store on the occasion of The Game Awards 2018. It Epic Games Store aspires to compete worthily initially Steam and later the Google Play offering creators a fairer distribution of profits in percentages 88/12 instead of the 80/20 (now) given by Steam and Google 70/30.
At the same time, the company promises a better user experience for gamers and starts this journey with some gifts to immediately attract the public. Every two weeks and throughout 2019 will offer gamers a free game that will of course be added to their library forever. The beginning will be with Subnautica from 14 to 27 December, followed by Super Meat Boy from 28 December to 10 January.
In terms of games, today we see in the list only four: Fortnite, Ashen, Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek and Hades, with the latter being a new project of Supergiant Games that is currently available in early access exclusively at the Epic Games Store. The exclusive version of the award-winning Journey for Windows PC will also be added soon.
