It was dislocated, after a thorough and thorough investigation of her Patras Security Sub-Directorate, a criminal organization, which was active in the illegal provision of pay TV services
In particular, on 7-6-2023 in the morning, her police officers Patras Security Sub-Directorate organized and implemented a coordinated police operation, during which they arrested three local men in areas of Attica, while four of their accomplices are still being sought.
A criminal case was filed against the seven defendants for the specific offenses of founding and participating in a criminal organization, violating the law on intellectual property and violating the legislation on the prevention and suppression of money laundering.
From the pre-investigative work of the police officers of the Patras Security Directorate, it emerged that the members of the criminal organization in the last five years have been channeling decoders for illegal retransmission of subscription channels to the market, using specialized technical means, illegal software, as well as special decoders.
From the further investigation by the police officers of the Security Directorate of Patras, it emerged that the members of the criminal organization having formed customer base (1.370) people in the Greek Territory, they managed to obtain illegal property benefit totaling more than (1.233.000 euros), causing at the same time economic loss to the beneficiary companies, amounting to (6.576.000 euros).
In searches carried out, in the houses of the members of the criminal organization and in their vehicles, the police officers of the Patras Security Directorate found and confiscated the following:
- (40.966) euro
- (6) decoders;
- (2) computers and a tablet
- (3) mobile phones
- a customer management panel;
In addition, the police detected a number of conversations in online applications related to the aforementioned activity, both between members of the criminal organization and between members and customers.
Those arrested will be taken to the Athens District Attorney.
