After the European Parliament, the Council today adopted the extension of the roaming system with internal charge until 2032
ΟCitizens will continue to make calls, send text messages and surf the internet when traveling to other countries. EU at no extra cost, even after the expiry of the current roaming regulation on June 30 2022.
The revised roaming regulation adjusts maximum wholesale charges to ensure that the provision of retail roaming services at home charges is viable for operators across the EU.
Increases transparency for services that may be subject to additional costs, and protects customers from bloated accounts due to unintentional roaming on non-terrestrial mobile networks while traveling by ship or plane.
The fair use policy, which aims to prevent permanent roaming, will continue. The Commission may propose changes to it following a thorough market analysis and an appropriate impact assessment.
The revised regulation also includes measures to ensure that the customer experience, including those with disabilities, is good in terms of service quality and access to emergency services.
The Commission will monitor the situation and, if appropriate, submit a new legislative proposal to regulate wholesale price ceilings and, if necessary, other aspects of the roaming market.

Following the adoption of the European Parliament 's position by the Council today, the legislative act is adopted.
After being signed by the President of the European Parliament and the President of the Council, it will be published in Official Journal of the European Union and will enter into force on July 1, 2022.
