What is the digital record of the year that is leaving?
Based on the quantitative figures, Greece in 2021 recorded a particularly significant progress. If we look at the electronic transactions of recent years, we will see that there is a very large increase: From 8,8 million transactions in 2018 we went to 34 million in 2019, last year we exceeded 94 million and this year we are expected to record more than 300 millions! This increase is exponential and is due to the electronic services that we implemented in the environment of gov.gr, but also to the response of the citizens, who have integrated them into their daily lives.
2021 was characterized by the perfect organization of the vaccination program, while the MyHealth application already completes four months of operation. Will other digital health services follow in 2022?
Utilization of technological tools in health services is one of the issues to which the Prime Minister places special emphasis, Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Such applications have great added value for the citizen. This is how the idea of the application was born MyHealth, which is its model Electronic Health Record.
Our goal is for citizens - and, of course, the doctors they choose - to be able to see their entire medical history through a single point. We started it MyHealth from prescriptions and referrals, we have recently added medical certificates and in the first quarter of 2022 we will activate a particularly important extension: The Electronic Child Health Booklet, through which parents and pediatricians will have the opportunity to refer to both the pediatric history and the vaccinations that have been done or should be done and to record data on the health and development of the child.
In the field of identification, what can citizens expect?
We follow a strategy of digitization of identification, ie the provision of services with a very high level of security from our home or work, from our mobile phone, computer or tablet. We started in March 2020 with the digitization of the authorization and the responsible statement, perhaps two more frequent services of the Greek state, which had the dimension of the original signature at their core. We continued a few weeks ago with the original signature on any document, as well as in private contracts.
These services are accessed with additional security concerns. In January, we start granting 656.500 digital signatures into a professionals, accountants, lawyers, notaries, civil servants, citizens who will ask for it.
You have said that your goal is to do everything through the mobile phone. When will this happen?
Surely, the next step is to make the most of it wallet on our mobile phones telephones, something we already do for covid-19 digital certificates and it has made it much easier for the citizen. There, services such as a driver's license should be added, something we are already developing together with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. But that's just the beginning.
Identification, our identity in essence, should be passed on to our mobile phones. This is already the case for most, even money transfers. And it happens more safely than it did in the situation we are trying to overcome today, of excessive bureaucracy and the constant use of certificates on paper.
And of course, when the competition for the new identities is completed, we will be able to say that our identity will be fully transferred to our mobile phone, as the most complete authentication application will be formed for all state services.
What remains to be done in the field of Justice?
Most of the proceedings of the Greek Justice have great potential for acceleration, through digitization and simplifications. We are in close cooperation with the competent minister from the first moment, Costa Tsiara and his team to make the most of digital tools in this direction. Already, the pandemic has accelerated many of our actions: The electronic issuance of court certificates, the electronic receipt of court decisions, the electronic filing of lawsuits.
In addition, a few days ago, we announced the service for real-time information on the progress of the exhibits in the Courts, the well-known panels, initially for the Athens Court of First Instance, which brings huge time savings to lawyers and parties.
What can the law firm expect?
In early 2022, all lawyers will receive a free digital signature of a new type, which will greatly facilitate their work. In the plan "Greece 2.0There is a large part of work on projects to speed up Justice through digitization, which have already started to be auctioned and we are optimistic that they will upgrade the daily life of the courts as much as they can.
