Ookla: "The fastest mobile network in Greece" for the sixth consecutive year
The COSMOTE network was distinguished for the sixth year in a row as "the fastest mobile network in Greece", at Ookla® Speedtest AwardsTM, the world's number one internet measurement company. According to Ookla data, COSMOTE's average download speed increased by 42.9%By 58.01 Mpbs to 82.94 Mbps, compared to the corresponding period last year. COSMOTE, which was the first to bring 5G to Greece, further strengthened its position in relation to the competition, achieving a speed score (Speed ScoreTM) 130.03, (2nd: 50.63 and 3rd: 50.16). In addition, COSMOTE mobile subscribers enjoy, on average, more than twice the download speeds of competing mobile providers.
The price "Greece's Fastest Mobile Network 2022» was based on approximately 565.000 measurements made by mobile network users themselves, during the first half of 2022. The tests were carried out through the application speedtest® in real conditions, across the country, on the networks of all mobile operators, via iOS and Android devices. With more than 16.000 servers worldwide, millions of tests are taken daily by Ookla® users, with a worldwide total exceeding 40 billion since 2006.

umlaut: Best in test in Mobile Internet and voice for the 8th time in a row
The best performance in Greece was achieved by COSMOTE's mobile network as a whole, but also in the individual evaluations of Mobile Internet and voice services, by the internationally recognized network measurement and control company umlaut, obtaining for the eighth consecutive time the certification "Best in Test». According to umlaut data, where the performance of 5G networks was also included and factored into the final score, the average speeds recorded in COSMOTE network measurements increased by 78% compared to last year's measurement, in 2021. Also in the speeds download, COSMOTE mobile subscribers enjoy, on average, more than three times faster speeds than competing mobile providers in major cities, towns and on the country's main roads.
The certification "Best in Test» is the result of a series of independent comparative measurements carried out by umlaut in the period 13 to 27 May 2022 and additional crowdsourcing data collected by December 2021 until May 2022.
The measurements were carried out with special scientific equipment (drive test tools) of umlaut in 23 large and small cities, as well as on the main roads of the country. During the measurements, all popular Mobile Internet and voice services were tested, and the final customer experience was recorded in terms of reliability, voice quality, call recovery time, 4G/5G broadband connectivity, upload speed/ download, internet browsing speed, seamless viewing HD/UHD/4K videos and response speed to OTT Voice apps and gaming.

Top internet experience with the largest 5G network in Greece
The COSMOTE 5G is the largest 5G network in the country with nationwide population coverage that has already exceeded 70%, while in Athens and Thessaloniki the coverage has already reached 97% and 90% respectively.
