Canalys: 11% drop in global mobile sales in the first quarter of 2022

According to the analysis company Canalys, global smartphone shipments decreased by 11% amid adverse economic conditions and sluggish seasonal demand during first quarter of 2022.

The global smartphone market lagged behind due to the volatile business environment in the first quarter. Markets saw an increase in cases COVID-19 due to the variant Omicron, although minimal hospitalizations and high vaccination rates have helped to normalize consumer activity rapidly.
