And this year their participation is expected to be high retail companies
For the third consecutive year, Black Friday is coming to Greece, promising explosive offers to consumers. Specifically, this year's "Black Friday" of discounts will come on November 23. Market circles claim that the Black Friday period, a well-organized chain can realize up to 10% of its turnover. Last year, in fact, consumers responded more than in the first year.
How the name came about
In the early 60's the spreadsheets and receipts were of course handwritten and the shops had two colors of ink to record the details. The days with a negative sales balance were written in red and the days with a positive report were written in black.
So, his last Friday was established November as the first day of sales of the Christmas season, with significantly increased turnovers, hence the name Black Friday. At the same time, the term was used in the 60s by Philadelphia police officers who complained about road congestion by both motorists and pedestrians.
At the end of the decade of the 80's, however, the retailers gave the term a positive character and since then "Black Friday" marked the Friday after "Thanksgiving", a day that stores in America look forward to all year because they make big profits.
Finally, it should be noted that in recent years the institution has spread to many European countries, including: England, Germany, France, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Austria, Finland, Poland and every year more and more retailers participate.
