Function Emergency SOS which is available in its turn iPhone 14, helped to save a stranded man in Nimiuk Point, Alaska
Η Apple recently enabled the feature Emergency SOS via satellite available in its range iPhone 14 at USA and Canada, and already helped to save a stranded man in Nimiuk Point, Alaska. The Department of Public Safety of Alaska issued a report, stating that a snowmobiler was rescued by the agency Alaska State Troopers on December 1 at 02:00 local time when the trapped man activated the feature Emergency SOS on his iPhone.
The Apple Emergency Response Center addressed the Search and Rescue department of the North-West Arctic municipality with the exact GPS coordinates of the trapped man. A team of four volunteers was then dispatched to locate and rescue him.
Function Emergency SOS by Apple is currently only available on USA and Canada for Apple users, but is expected to expand across the France, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom, later this month.
