The Bloomberg confirms that the Apple, Cupertino-based company has already started testing new iPhones with USB-C port.

Πa few days ago, the popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had stated that Apple would adopt USB-C port in the news iPhone in 2023, and now The Bloomberg confirms Cupertino-based tech giant has already started testing a new iPhone Smartphone with USB-C port.

Of course this year iPhone which will be unveiled later this year by Apple, will continue to maintain Lightning socket currently.

In addition, the same publication claims that Apple, is also working on a special adapter that would allow future iPhones with USB-C port, work with all accessories designed for the current Lightning socket, but it is not yet clear whether Apple will include this adapter in the retail package or sell it separately.

But given Apple's reputation for charging even pins and cables, chances are its customers will have to spend extra money to buy this adapter.

One of the reasons for this change from the Lightning to USB-C port on the iPhone is Directive adopted by the European Union, forcing all devices to be equipped with a type port USB-C. This of course is not a problem for the makers of Android Smartphones, since most smartphone / tablet with Android released in recent years, are already equipped with USB-C port.

However, Apple is concerned that the new European legislation "imposing only one type of connection for all devices on the market will harm its European consumers, slowing down the introduction of new beneficial innovations in charging standards, including those related to safety and energy efficiency".

The EU has denied Apple's claims that the move to USB-C hinders innovation, saying that "if a new standard better than USB-C emerges, we can readjust the rules».

Whether or not European law stifles innovation, the door-to-door Lightning on USB-C It would also benefit iPhone users with better data transfers and faster charging.
