AMD: RDNA 3 performance will be explosive - with prices going up more

Η AMD reached the performance of its graphics cards Nvidia with architecture RDNA2, especially with the cards Radeon RX 6800 XT and 6900 XT, and now it seems that AMD is looking even higher, with the upcoming generation of graphics cards RDNA3.

ΈRumors of architecture have already spread RDNA3 and its flagship Radeon RX 7900 XT powered by Navi 31 GPU and is formatted as a powerful graphics card. Now, the Tom by Moore's Law is Dead informs that RDNA 3 "will improve performance by at least 60%" with many of its sources revealing that the Radeon RX 7900 XT will be "about twice" the performance of the RX 6900 XT.

Tom notes that people need to remember that “Theoretical top performance and performance in the real world are not the same thing“. He goes on to add that "just because the top model attributes a specific way to a simulation, does not mean that in practice the same will happen, once it is made of silicon, it will be packaged and will need cooling".

Another great note from Tom is that the price of Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards will be raised by AMD by almost an entire degree, so expect to pay more than ever for RNA 3 Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards.SS. already commercial prices are in… celestial. Imagine what happens when MSRP prices go up…)

AMD will be released many Navi 3X GPUs in the future, having already foreseen the Navi 31, Navi 32 and Navi33. In terms of performance, we should expect that the top GPU RDNA 3 in monolithic form (it will probably be the Navi 33) will come with performance increased by 100% + compared to a Radeon RX 6900 XT.

  • AMD Navi 31: Multi-Compute Die (MCD) tape out in Q4 2021
  • AMD Navi 32: Multi-Compute Die (MCD) tape out in Q4 2021
  • AMD Navi 33: Monolithic GPU (like normal) tape out in Q1 2022
