Δnot many days have passed since presentation of the folding Samsung smartphone with the Infinity Flex Display and Samsung CEO DJ Koh made the first statements about the availability of the company's first foldable smartphone.
During the presentation of the device with the Infinity Flex Display at the Samsung Developers Conference, not the slightest mention was made about its availability, despite the fact that mass production of the screen will begin in the coming months. But when DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung, spoke to reporters, he revealed that the device will go into mass production and is not an experiment of the company.
More specifically, DJ Koh stated that Samsung's foldable smartphone will reach and possibly exceed 1 million units in the first half of 2019, while if there is high demand in the market, production will increase even more. In addition, Samsung has admitted that the first foldable smartphone may be the Flexpai introduced by Royole, but Samsung is primarily interested in the user experience so that it is the best possible for the end user, building a device that will have good autonomy and will not carry much weight.
Reference was also made to Google where Samsung met with the CEO, Sundar Pichai, and after discussions the team was developed for the development of the operating system for the foldable device, with the developers receiving prototypes so that they could do the tests and reach the Android at such a level where the user experience will be ideal before the device is officially released on the market.
Finally, DJ Koh stated that he does not believe that folding smartphones will replace the ones we use in their current form but the technology they incorporate has all the tools to evolve even more to the point that we will have not only folding devices but also those that we can stretch and gather them, reducing their volume.
