Presentation of YUNDOO Y8 Internet Android 6 TV Box 4GB RAM 32GB ROM

ΣYou will surely find that the market has been flooded with various TV-BOXes that are more or less the same in terms of their features, but also their appearance.
Most of them are nothing more than clones of the same plant with a different name, and slightly different appearance.
So it's hard to say for sure what each proposal differs as most differ only in name and price. , maybe it finally deserves our attention. But let's take things in order….

Packing

The device arrived in our hands with the well-known - simple packaging in black. Of course, what we need to point out is that we have a sample in our hands, and maybe the packaging of the device that is currently on the market is different from ours.

Yundoo is currently in Pre-order, and we believe that the sample we have in our hands may differ for the better when the device becomes available.

Inside the package we find the TV Box, a remote control, the power supply with European plug, an HDMI cable and of course a manual in English, and some different forms such as the warranty.

Inside the package, we did not find batteries for the remote control (2xAAA), but do not forget that we have a sample and not the normal package, and obviously the batteries will be in your package, if you buy it.

General description

The body of the device is black, it is of course made of plastic, and it looks a bit like graphite.
It does not have the standard flat design, and looks like a puzzle of 3 flat surfaces.
It is quite heavy and in the standard dimensions of the majority of TV-BOX that we find in the market.
I can not say that I liked the quality of the plastic used, but this is completely subjective, as we will judge the device as a whole later. On the back of the device we have the input for the power supply of the device, an optical output for audio, an SPDIF output, a Gigabit LAN port, an HDMI 2.0 output and 2 USB 2 ports. On the left side of the device we find a port for SD CARD which is not Micro but for normal SD, a USB 3 port and a USB type C port.On the front of the device we have the ON / OFF switch, and a blue LED which is too bright and sometimes becomes quite annoying, especially at night when we want to be in the dark to watch our favorite movie.

As we can already see, the device is very rich in terms of connectivity, as it offers us USB 3 - Gigabit LAN - Full SD Card port, and USB type C port, far outstripping its competitors.

Remote control

The remote control, on the other hand, is a standard remote control found in most TV-Boxes out there.
It has a number of keys that cover all the functions of the device, and a few additional keys that act as Shortcuts for special applications.

The quality of the remote control is not bad, but it looks very cheap in its materials, and indifferent in terms of its ergonomics.
We would like something better here, maybe with better plastics and better touch on the keys.

In terms of its operation, it works without problems and catches from long distances.
We did not find batteries in our packaging, but this may differ from your packaging when the device becomes available.

Initial Setup

I've connected to my Google Account with a quick setup, and other devices that are Bluetooth, or WiFi can easily connect to it.

On the home screen we have a Custom Launcher of the company, with about a dozen apps that have been suggested, and are not pre-loaded, so you can easily install them from the Play Store of your choice.
There are several content TV applications, but also a version of KODI (Jarvis).

In the following Video that I found on Youtube, you can see what the Interface of the device looks like in general.

The device comes with the version of Android 6.0, while in my case it was immediately upgraded to the latest version, as soon as I connected the device to my home WiFi network. It might be overly optimistic to expect Android 7.0 in a next upgrade, but it is possible that this will happen soon.

Applications

Yundoo has no weaknesses in terms of Android TV in general. The choice of streaming apps and games for TV is better than it was a year ago, thanks to a concerted effort by Google and its partners. But there is no doubt that we can not have the plethora of applications found in the regular Google Play Store.

Let's say here that when it comes to KODI, Yundoo seems to be designed for it, as it plays everything perfectly and without any problems, in all the versions I tried, even in the recent Krypton Edition.

Games

If you want to play Android games on your TV, you may have finally found what you are looking for. With Yundoo you can play comfortably and without LAG many game titles without any problems, and in fact it seems that the 4GB that the device has helps a lot in having the best possible experience.
That being said, those who they want some extra games on Yundoo will not disappoint. The included remote control is great for casual games like Crossy Road, but also more recent games like Riptide GP Renegade. You will have enough Frames if you play them in 4K resolution, but in 1080p you will be fine.

Performances

Yundoo handles anyone application streaming video with ease. I'm sorry I do not have a 4K screen to try, but based on the features of the device, I'm pretty sure it will handle such applications perfectly. There is no doubt that Yundoo is performing flawlessly in relation to some of its competitors.

After all, the Antutu Benchmark you see below suggests that Yundoo is really a powerful device even in demanding titles.

Conclusion

Yundoo is a pleasant implementation, as it is very cheap for everything it offers, it is hassle-free and fast enough in whatever we have tried.
Its design and features of the device are completely different from the implementations of its competitors, and you will surely be satisfied with what it offers.

We recommend it without reservation as he completely satisfied us with everything we demanded from it.
